Disappointment

With real estate you never know what's going to happen. I got two leads from someone I work with (both rentals). One of them sent an email with her number in it, so I called but it turns out it was the wrong number so I emailed her back and left my number and told her to call me or email me with her number and we would set up a time to go look at some rental properties. I never get an email from her. Instead she emails the property management company saying that there was no number in the emails I sent. Even if there wasn't a number (which there was, I went back and checked to make sure) you would think to at least reply to the email that I sent right?! I emailed her back for a 3rd time and left my number again, still nothing. The second lead said she was going to call me back when she looked at her schedule and set up a time to look at the property she wanted. First, she never called me back. So Sunday I call the listing agent to see if that specific property is still available and to make sure there are no other applications on the table, which there aren't. After I get off the phone the agent I call her and leave her a message. That was Sunday afternoon it is now Tuesday and there is still no return phone call from her.

Hopefully I can get something soon. I really want to excel at this!!!

The First Post

My name is Martine (Tina). I am 25 years old and I have two beautiful daughters.  I have recently obtained my real estate license. The process of getting the license was a bit tough. I chose to do the at home study rather than going to the class with an instructor to teach it. Being home with two kids vying for my attention made it that much harder to get through the book. But I actually did it which is a huge feat for me. When it came time to take the final I was sorely disappointed the first time. But I go over that hump and studied for a couple more weeks then took it again and passed!!! After that it was time to take the actual licensing test. I scheduled the state test. The state test was two portions, a national portion and state portion. I passed the national portion the first time and failed the state portion the first time. Most who take the test do not pass the first time and have to take it a second and third time. Knowing that did not make it easier on me. I walked out of the building in tears because for 3 months I studied my butt off and failed. But I came 6 days later and retook the state portion and passed which a huge burden off my shoulder.

Now I am working with Keller Williams Realty here in Fredericksburg, VA. The struggle now is getting my name out there so I can start selling and listing houses. This blog is going to about my struggles and success as a real estate agent. Being an agent is not easy work. It is not a 9 to 5 job.

This is it for now
